Sources policy
Not all sources are equal, so we rank them, and the binding text always outranks the marketing.
Our order of preference
When two sources disagree, the one higher on this list wins. When only a low-ranking source is available, we say so or we leave the claim out.
| Rank | Source | Used for |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | The casino's current terms and conditions, bonus terms and cashier | Offer conditions, payment methods, limits, verification rules |
| 2 | Regulators' public registers, such as the Gambling Commission register | Whether an operator is licensed for Great Britain, and by whom |
| 3 | Game studios' own game pages and help files | RTP figures, volatility, game mechanics |
| 4 | Payment providers' own help pages | How a method works, typical fees, account requirements |
| 5 | Our own hands-on testing and support chats | What actually happens in practice |
| 6 | The operator's promotional pages and brand materials | Headline offers, used only where consistent with the terms |
| 7 | Third-party listings and news coverage | Leads to check, never quoted as fact on their own |
Why the terms beat the banner
A promotional banner might show "777% up to €7,777". The bonus terms will say how that is split across the first deposits, which games count towards wagering, the maximum stake while a bonus is active and when it expires. Those clauses decide what the offer is worth to you, so the terms are always our starting point. If the banner and the terms differ, we report the terms and point out the difference.
Regulatory sources
For anything about licensing in Great Britain we go to the Gambling Commission's public register, not to a logo in a footer. A footer can show licence details, but the register is where they can be confirmed. We also use the Commission's own guidance when explaining rules that apply to GB-licensed operators. Where a casino shows a licence from another jurisdiction, we explain what that means for a UK player rather than treating it as equivalent.
Game information
Game RTP can differ between versions of the same slot, and some studios supply several. We take RTP figures from the in-game help screen or the studio's own documentation, and we tell you to check the information panel in the game you are actually playing, because that is the version that applies.
Payments information
Our payment guides, edited by Priya Shah, combine what we see in the Trixino Casino cashier with providers' own explanations of how their products work. Where something is a UK-wide rule, such as the ban on using credit cards for gambling with GB-licensed operators, we say where it comes from. For any limit or processing time, the cashier at the moment you pay is the final word, and we say that on the page.
Safer gambling sources
Helpline numbers and service descriptions come only from the organisations themselves: GamCare, BeGambleAware, GAMSTOP, Gamblers Anonymous UK and the NHS. They are re-checked whenever the page is updated.
What we do not use
- Anonymous forum posts as evidence of fact (they can be useful leads to investigate).
- Other affiliate sites' figures, which are often copied from out-of-date banners.
- AI-generated summaries of terms. We read the text ourselves.
Linking out
We link to external sources when it genuinely helps you check something. Those links are editorial and unpaid. Partner links to the casino are different and are explained in our affiliate disclosure. See also our fact-checking policy and editorial policy.
