Fact-checking policy

Every figure on this site is traced back to where it came from before it is published, and this page explains how.

Who checks

All factual content is checked by Priya Shah, our fact-checker and payments and safer gambling editor. Priya did not write the page she is checking. That separation is deliberate: the person who tested a cashier or read a bonus clause is the person most likely to assume they read it correctly.

What counts as a fact we must check

  • Offer figures, such as the 777% welcome package up to €7,777 and the 400% weekly reload up to €3,500.
  • Bonus conditions: wagering, maximum stakes, eligible games, expiry and excluded payment methods.
  • Payment methods, fees, minimums, limits and processing steps.
  • Game titles, studios and any RTP figures we quote.
  • Licensing statements and anything about regulation in Great Britain.
  • Helpline numbers, websites and descriptions of support services.

How a claim is checked

  1. Find the primary source. For an offer, that is the current terms on the casino site, not a banner or a third-party listing. For licensing, it is the regulator's public register. Our order of preference is set out in the sources policy.
  2. Record it. We note the source, the wording and the date checked, and keep screenshots of terms that matter.
  3. Compare. The draft must say what the source says, no more. If the source says "up to", we say "up to".
  4. Decide. If the claim matches, it stays. If it does not, it is corrected. If it cannot be verified, it is removed or rewritten as guidance, for example "check the current T&Cs on the casino site before depositing".

Things we will not state without proof

Some claims are easy to make and hard to prove, so we set a higher bar for them. We do not publish licence numbers, company registration details, exact withdrawal times or wagering multipliers unless we have seen them in a primary source and can show where. We never claim that Trixino Casino holds a Gambling Commission licence unless it appears on the Commission's public register. Where a figure is the operator's own claim, such as "24/7 support", we present it as advertised and, once tested, say what we found.

Checking helpline and safety information

A wrong phone number on a responsible gambling page could do real harm, so safer gambling details are checked against each organisation's own website every time the page is updated. The National Gambling Helpline is 0808 8020 133, run by GamCare.

Corrections

If you think something on the site is wrong, email [email protected] with the page address and what you saw. Correction requests are handled before any other work. We aim to verify within two working days and, if we were wrong, to fix the page the same day.

When a correction changes a fact a reader could have relied on, such as a bonus condition or a payment method, we add a short dated note at the end of the page explaining what changed. Typos and formatting fixes are made without a note.

Re-checking published pages

Facts age. Around a new launch they age quickly. Core pages such as the review, bonus guide and payment methods are re-checked at least monthly, and the "Updated" date on each page shows when the facts were last verified. This policy sits alongside our editorial policy and content standards.
