Our team

Two people write and check everything on this site, and every page tells you which of them did what.

Owen Blackwood, senior reviewer

Owen Blackwood

Senior Reviewer

Bristol-based writer who has covered UK online gambling since 2013, first on sports betting and, from 2018, on casino guides. Owen does the hands-on testing: registering, depositing small amounts with his own debit card, claiming or declining offers and reading every clause of the terms. He writes the review and the topic guides.

Priya Shah, fact-checker and payments editor

Priya Shah

Fact-checker, Payments and Safer Gambling Editor

Priya spent years in payments operations and complaints handling in UK fintech before moving into editorial work. She checks every figure on the site against its primary source and owns our pages on payment methods, withdrawals, identity checks and safer gambling.

Why two people, not one

A single writer can test a casino thoroughly and still get a figure wrong. A reload percentage is copied from an old banner, a payment method that was in the cashier last week has quietly gone, a phrase in the bonus terms is read the generous way. Having a second person whose job is to doubt the first is the simplest protection we know of. On this site, nothing is published until Priya has traced each factual claim back to where it came from, and anything she cannot trace is either removed or rewritten as something you should check on the casino site yourself.

How the split shows up on the page

Each guide carries the name of the person who wrote it, with a link to their profile. Where a page has been checked, the "Updated" date reflects the last time the facts were re-verified, not just the last time a comma moved. If an update changes a conclusion, for example a payment method being added or removed, we say what changed rather than silently editing.

What neither of us will do

  • Accept payment, gifts or "VIP treatment" in exchange for coverage.
  • Invent figures we could not verify, such as licence numbers, withdrawal times or wagering multipliers.
  • Present a big bonus as free money. It never is.
  • Write anything aimed at under-18s or at people who have self-excluded.

Our full approach is set out in the editorial policy and the fact-checking policy.

Getting in touch with us

Both of us read the shared inbox at [email protected]. If you are writing about a factual error, Priya will pick it up; questions about a review verdict go to Owen. Details and response times are on the contact page. We cannot help with your casino account, but we are always glad to hear what we got wrong or what we should cover next.
